Beverly McCrary (LeMunyon), born February 17, 1943 in Kansas City, Kansas has died. She was the daughter of Ralph McCrary and Bonnie Hickson McCrary who came to live in Santa Fe in 1947.
Beverly graduated cum laude from the College of Santa Fe to become a caring teacher at Santa Fe High School for twenty-two years. Upon retiring she traveled to Japan, Turkey, Mexico, India and Morocco primarily to experience their culture as well as to purchase ethnic inspired fabrics for sewing into Palestinian-style garments which she often wore. Beverly took great pleasure in learning about cultures other than her own, particularly their architecture, food, crafts, and traditional clothing. Early in retirement she started reading and sewing groups which are still active.
Beverly loved cats, folk art, fabrics, reading, designing, sewing clothing, neighbors, chocolate cake and green chile.
Survivors include two cats, close friends Robert LeMunyon, Hannah Hibbs, Jon Schaefer, Robert Wolf, Bonnie Koloc, Susan Yanda, cousins Rita Webb, Ron McCrary, Dick McCrary and their spouses and many relatives and friends.
A sharing memories gathering will be held at the Unitarian Church on the corner of Barcelona and Galisteo. Visit riverafamilyfuneralhome.com for service dates and times.
