Blake Forrester Dunlap
Dec. 24, 1969—Jan. 28, 2018
Loving father, son, and brother, steadfast friend, seeker and adventurer, Blake was graced with all the good attributes: kind, smart, funny, handsome, and graceful. He put everyone at ease.
He grew up in Amherst Junction, WI, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1993 from Carleton College in Northfield, MN. He studied abroad in Costa Rica, spent extended time in Mexico, and went to Cuba on a humanitarian mission while working for Pastors for Peace.
He attended Law School at the University of Michigan, graduating in 2001, and went on to practice law at top firms in New York and Hong Kong.
His compass redirected. Moving to Taos, New Mexico, Blake took to the ski slopes in the winter and cast his fly rod in the cool mountain streams of spring and summer.
His presence will be felt always. Blake leaves behind his beloved daughters, Helen and Elizabeth Dunlap and former wife Mary Golden Dunlap of Memphis, TN; parents Dr. Roy J. and Jane Dunlap of Taos, NM; brother Roy John Dunlap IV and Joana Cardozo of New York, NY; sister Piper Wohlbier, her husband John, and nieces Evelyn and Lorelei of Washington, DC; host family Vic and Helen Furlan of Tauranga, New Zealand; aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.
“And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest!”
