Robert “Bobby“ Castellano passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2022 will be missed by his whole family. Bobby is survived by his children (Daniel, Jessica, Michael, and Andrew) brother (Rudy Castellano), Sister (Virginia Castellano), mother to his children (Eliza), and partner (Carolyn Francisco). Bobby was the son of Robert Castellano and Felipa Hernandez-Castellano. He was raised Catholic, was an athlete while growing up, and then went to college after graduating high school in 1965. He continued sports in college and graduated with a Bachelors degree in physical education. He then drafted into the military and served in Saigon at McV headquarters and then later at AFEES (Armed Forces Entrance Exam Station) in Albuquerque with the Army. Bobby was later honorably discharged with numerous achievements. After his service Bobby worked as a social worker for NMHHSD (New Mexico Health and Human Service Department), and he later transferred to NMDOT (NM Department of Transportation) planning Bureau. Bobby then transferred to Human Resources where he later retired. In life Bobby enjoyed numerous outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping, and he was also an amazing pool player that approached each shot with excellent strategy. He was a skilled craftsman and built many things with his hands as well as in life through family, friendships, and genuine connections within his circle. Bobby was also a very humble, creative, optimistic, considerate, and a calm character.
Services to be held August 19, 2022 at St. Ann’s parish. Rosary will start at 9:30 AM mass will start at 10:30 AM with the eulogy in between. Burial to be held at Santa Fe national Cemetery at 3:00 PM. Information for gatherings before and after burial will be provided after mass. Please practice and respect proper social distancing, surgical masks, and hand hygiene due to continued COVID-19 numbers.
