Brigida “Vicky” Sena was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. The Lord called her home on May 13, 2021 at the age of 71, following a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. Despite her struggles, she fought the good fight and never wavered in her faith.
Vicky was born to the late Elias and Julia Garcia on March 3, 1950. She is survived by her loving husband Henry; daughter April Montoya (husband Mark), son Henry Dean Sena (wife Jeannie), and daughter Vitalia Sena-Baca (husband Herman); Grandchildren: Deric, Megan, Julia, Melody, Faith, Denae, Sebastian and Mackenzie; and Great-grandson: Ezra; Siblings: Helen Garcia, and Noberto Garcia (wife Francis) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Vicky was extremely close to her in-laws and extended family. She loved them dearly and was deeply loved by them all.
Vicky is preceded in death by her parents Elias and Julia Garcia; Sisters: Ida (surviving husband Benny), Pauline, and Ramona; Brothers: Elias Jr. (surviving wife Viola), Toribio, and Walter (surviving fiancée Lila); Nephews: Francisco Garcia, Anthony Pacheco; and Niece: Patricia Gurulé.
Vicky loved the Lord and had the heart of a servant. She spent her time on earth blessing others. She dedicated her time and love to her family, especially her “Honey” Henry. Their love story began in 1964, where they met on the playground at 14, never to leave each other’s side. True love blossomed and they married at the tender age of 17. Their marriage was full of unconditional love, commitment, and support, both in sickness and in health. Vicky said the best decision of her life was marrying her Honey, aside from having accepted Jesus as her Savior. She was a wonderful, dedicated, and supportive mother who always put her children first. She was also an incredibly kind grandmother who took pride in all of her grandchildren and great-grandson. Vicky had a beautiful soul and led by example.
In addition to her love of family, she loved to cook and excelled at it. Her tortillas were unrivaled, her sugar cookies divine and, not to brag, but she was a three-time chile cook-off champ!
Although Vicky is gone, her memory will live on forever in the hearts and minds of her family and friends who love her, and those whose lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
