Carla Freeman- 69 of Santa Fe, New Mexico passed away on January 2, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Washington, DC and was a "lifer" at Sidwell Friends School where she graduated in 1967. She completed her BA and MA at the University of Arizona, Tucson, in Library Science. Carla and Don moved to Santa Fe in 2005.
Although it was an underground "secret" everyone from Washington, DC to Tucson, AZ to Santa Fe, NM knew about her fabulous sense of humor and generosity of spirit through her notorious eatery: Carla's Cosmic Cafe. Her love of her extended family, Jewish History and Genealogy, animal rescue, her sincere commitment to volunteer work, Cancer support efforts, and many, many other organizations demonstrated her philanthropic spirit.
Carla is preceded in death by her mother, Beady and father, Carl M. Freeman, stepmother: Virginia A. Freeman and Brother Joshua M. Freeman. She is survived by her sisters: Susan Freeman McGee and Lisa Freeman, life partner, Donald J. Percious. She is also survived by her nieces Brita Ann McGee and Naomi Rachel Freeman, nephew Todd David McGee, great niece: Ava Dunbar McGee, great nephews, Seth and Ethan Van Dinter and her beloved cats: Smudge and Eva.

Funeral Services will be held at Rivera Memorial Gardens on Rodeo Rd. at 2:30 pm Thursday, January 3rd.
