Carmelita "Carmen" Martinez

Our precious Carmelita (Carmen) Martinez; age 83, a resident of Chimayo, NM passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 20th 2015. She was born June 30th, 1932. Carmelita was a loving mother and grandmother. She was well known to many as a caring and beautiful person, always welcoming to those in need with her beautiful smile. Summers she enjoyed watering and looking at her beautiful rose bushes. She was a blessing to her family. Carmelita was preceded in death by her husband Belarmino G. Martinez, mother Francisquita (Nani) Martinez, daughter Rosie Ann Gallegos, son Randy Martinez, and granddaughter Lori Ann Gallegos, along with brothers and sisters, Onesimo, Amadeo, Rosenda, Virginia, Trenidad, Betty, Audilia. She was survived by her children Geraldine Martinez, Martha and husband Antonio Trujillo, Michael and wife Nellie Martinez, James Martinez, Annette and husband Ricky Martinez, Noel and wife Perla Martinez, her 22 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Siblings Dora and husband Gilbert Martinez, Christina and husband Ricardo Padilla, and from California Flora Villa, Vicente and wife Candie Martinez. Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons Rudy Sanchez, Nelson DeAguero Jr., Fabian Mendez, Steven Martinez, Darren Martinez, and Michael Ray Martinez. Honorary pallbearers Randy Martinez Jr., Melissa Archuleta, Keanu Gurule, and Ignacio Sanchez. Services took place on Tuesday, October 27th, 2015 at Victory Faith Church. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 28th 2015 also at Victory Faith Church. Interment followed at The Santa Fe National Cemetery.
