Alex Vargas

Alex Vargas - 84 years old. Born October 16, 1938 in Chimayo, NM to Eulogio and Salome Vargas; passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday January 3, 2023 from his three month battle with Leukemia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eulogio and Salome, his brothers Richard Vargas and Rudy Vargas, and sister Bernie Martinez. He is survived by his wife Corrine, son Sam Vargas and his wife Elaine, daughter Mary Frances Sanchez and husband Daniel, daughter Barbara Vargas and her partner Tom Place, and son John Vargas and his partner Chris Martinez; nine grandchildren; and nineteen greatgrandchildren; brothers Tony Vargas (Julia) and Eulogio (Celina). In lieu of flowers, the family has requested any donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - New Mexico Chapter (www.lls.org/donate). Services will be held at St. Anne's church on Friday January 20. Rosary will be at 10:00am followed by the mass at 11:00am.
