Carmen Medardo Medina, Jr., passed away on January 11, 2021 at the age of 78. Carmen M. Medina, a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada and formerly from Arroyo Hondo, New Mexico passed away on January 11, 2021. At the age of 18 Carmen served in the U.S. Army. Upon discharge from the Army, he returned to the Hondo valley. At a local dance he met his wife, Beatrice Medina and they married. Carmen went to work for Molycorp mine, eventually at the age of 28 he and his brother, Herb purchased and ran Herbs, a bar and dance hall in Arroyo Hondo until its sale to become Midtown Market and Spirits. While he ran the bar at night, by day he served his community, working at many levels for many years, within Taos County as Clerk, Assessor and Commissioner. In 2010, he and his wife achieved his dream of moving to and living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Carmen was very loving and kind he enjoyed people, ever the flirt he was the life of the party.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carmen Sr. and Eufemia Medina, sister Loucella Trujillo, son Chris Medina, grandson Randy Medina, and granddaughter Melissa Medina.
Carmen is survived by his wife, Beatrice Medina, children Arnold Trujillo (Vanessa), Rick Medina (Renee), Manda Medina, Gary Medina, Brandon Medina, and Isaac Martinez. Grandchildren; Erica Trujillo (Joe), Jennifer Trujillo, Anthony Trujillo (Loretta), Marissa Trujillo, Jaclyn Medina, Victoria Medina (Nikki), Marcus Medina, Loren Mondragon (Cheyenne), Gary Medina, Jr., and Isaiah Ortega and many great-grandchildren; Brianna, Alianah, Antonio, Amberly, Jeremy, Jace, Ryan, Zach, Kai, Jayden. Carmen is also survived by his brothers Uvaldo Medina (Linda) and Herbert Medina (Georgina) numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, Manuel Ortiz.
