Carville Collins, 78, passed away peacefully from cancer at home in Santa Fe, NM on September 30, 2022, after over a year on home hospice. Carville was born Marsha Carville Stone in Dallas, TX on June 29, 1944 to parents Marshall Fray Stone and Catherine LeBlanc Stone. She was raised in El Paso, TX and attended Austin High School. She was married to “Butch” Gene Joseph Dennehy III from 1965-1975, producing two well-loved children; daughter “Lysa” Carville Elizabeth Dennehy and son Gene Joseph Dennehy IV. She lived much of her life in Playa del Rey, CA, attending St. Anastasia Catholic Church, and then for the past 10 years in Santa Fe, she attended The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, and then St. Anne Catholic Church, her final parish.
It is difficult to describe what an amazing woman Carville was throughout her life; with the hills she climbed, the things she accomplished, the people she touched, how much she thought of and did for others, and how deeply she loved. She retired from Northrop Grumman’s environmental department following health issues, having previously received a BS and a post graduate degree from Pepperdine University. Her Catholic Faith was profound, unceasing and inspiring. Friends and family will remember her decorative cards, her beautifully skilled needlepoints, her hospitality and holiday decorations, and her special love for Christmas. Even throughout her illness, she sought to be a gracious host to guests who came to visit her. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed.
Carville was predeceased by her parents, her daughter Lysa, sister Sandra Stone Nagy and nephew Michael Nagy. She is survived by her son Gene, and her niece Nina Nagy Galanti.
