Cecilia D. Rivera passed away July 12, 2017 at Kingston Residence in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was born in Wagon Mound, New Mexico to Ricardo Rivera and Ana Garcia Rivera. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Theresa Wallace (Eugene); and sister, Rosalie E. Anton (George).
She is survived by her nieces Patricia Rivera Wallace of Santa Fe, Deborah Wallace Young (Wesley Young) of Peralta NM, god-daughter Antoinette Martinez Avery and cousins Michael and Vanessa Sandoval of Pueblo CO and many other cousins and extended relatives.
Cecilia graduated from the Immaculate Conception High School in Las Vegas, NM and attended NM Highlands University, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She worked as a purchasing agent for the state of New Mexico in various agencies. She retired as Chief of the Purchasing Section of the Administrative Services Division of the Health and Environment Department of the State of New Mexico.
Cecilia made the best red chili we’ve ever eaten. She spent much of her time in the garden and caring for family, especially her sister Theresa, and their yorkie, Winston the Hypochondriac.
