Charels Agustus Guttman, a resident of Taos passed away on October 4, 2024, at the age of 84.
Charles was born to Adolph and Flora Guttman and was one of 5 children. He was close to his parents and his siblings. He loved and adored his parents so much that he was always willing to travel and help in any capacity for any length of time.
Charles was a private person and enjoyed quite time to himself. However, with his family he was a jokester and spent real quality time with them, especially on holidays. He was that one person who kept constant communication with the whole family via phone calls.
He had many interests in his life. He loved reading the newspaper. It seemed like he read newspapers daily. He loved to watch sports on TV, all sports. Basketball was his favorite sport, and the LA Lakers were his favorite team.
Charles was a devout Christian. He watched religious services on TV every chance he got. He read the bible often and listened to the bible readings and teachings on the radio.
His interests also led him to the casino where he spent time walking around, sometimes playing slot machines as well as watching horse racing.
Charles was a home chef and prepared excellent food. He had an exquisite palate and enjoyed expensive food. He enjoyed home-cooked meals and loved and apricated his sister Susan’s home cooking.
Although he was never married and never had his own children, Charles loved his nieces and nephews and was great with children.
Charles was a quality control specialist, and had spent many years living in California, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Flora Guttman, and siblings Elizabeth Ledesma, Cecilia Gonzales, and Adolph Guttman Jr.
He is survived by sister Susan Holguin, nephews Daniel, Angel Ladesma, Jay Econom, and, Phillip Econom, nieces April Gonzales, Cindy Jimenez, and E-liz Parra.
