Charles John Michael Montoya left this world on 15 November 2017 in Boca Raton Florida at the age of 74. He was born on June 9, 1943 to Deacon Oswaldo and Rafelita Montoya in Santa Fe. He was the 6th of 12 children. Michael attended Guadalupe Elementary and St. Michaels High School. He entered the US Navy and served four years aboard the USS Lexington where he received Honorable Discharge. He was preceded in death by his parents Rafelita and Oswaldo, sister Marie Baca, Bother-in-law Gilbert “Cow” Baca, Brother Lorenzo Garcia, Sister-in-law Antonia Montoya (Gabby) and several Montoya Uncles and Aunts, (Paternal) and several Rivera and Quintana, (Maternal). He is survived by his lifelong partner Jackie, Brothers Albert “Gabby” (Elfa), Joseph “JoJo” (Maxine), Jerry, Steve (Margret) Montoya, sisters Socorro “Sukie” Gonzales (Jose), Carla Valdez, Frances “Pancha” Ortiz (Joe), Marian Chick (Dr. Tom), Patricia “Patty” Bangs (David) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Burial Mass will be on Tuesday Feb 13, 2018 at the Guadalupe Catholic Church at 9:00 AM. Internment of cremains to follow at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 10:30. Reception at St. Anne Community Center following internment.
