Christine L. Mondragon-Vargas, 55, of Taos passed away on June 4, 2010. She graduated from Taos High School in 1972 and was also a graduate of Highlands University in 1978. She was currently employed as a bookkeeper for Taos Municipal Schools. She is preceded in death by her parents, Palemon and Ofelia Mondragon, brother in law, Timothy Vargas. She is survived by her husband, David P. Vargas, daughters, Paula N. Vargas of Las Vegas, Nevada and Maya E. Vargas of Taos, in-laws, Felix and Dubie Vargas of Taos, brothers, Pat Mondragon (Molly), Jose Gia Mondragon (JoAnne), Larry Mondragon (Yolanda) all of Ranchos de Taos, sisters, Porfiria Chavez (Pedro) of Ranchos de Taos, Delia Jordan (James) of Pataskala, Ohio and Pauline Trujillo of Santa Fe, brothers-in-law, Leroy Vargas (Pauline) and Antonio Vargas of Taos, sisters in law, Kathy Ortiz (Gilbert) of Taos, Debbie Martinez and Felicia Ortiz (Penny) of Albuquerque, many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited on June 6, 2010. Funeral mass was held on June 7, 2010. Both services were held at San Francisco de Asis Church with interment following at the New Llano Quemado Cemetery in Ranchos de Taos.
