Christine Vgil Mora

Christine Vigil Mora Age 67 Our Beautiful Loving Mother Christine passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on the 29th of August, 2016 following a short illness. Christine prided herself on being an outgoing “people person”, who always had a big beautiful smile on her face, a wave and a kind word to anyone she would meet. Her family would often take her on car trips and ask mom; “you’re not on a parade float, why do you wave and say hi to everyone to the people in the car next to you?” Her reply was; “because I’m not a grouch”. Christine was in finance for many years until she “thought” she was ready for retirement; soon she was restless and bored and wanted to return to work again. She loved her family greatly and always made sure to say “I love you” after a visit or a phone call. She loved and doted on her grandchildren “My Loves” as she would refer to them; Theresa (Vincent); Christine “Christy”’ Margaret “Rosie” Sandoval and special great grandchild Destiney Smith. She loved all her grandchildren equally but always had a special bond with her first grandchild Theresa (My T-E-S A) as she would call her. Christine is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Margaret Rael Vigil, in-laws Manuel and Matilda Mora, sister Virginia Viola Vigil, brothers Alfonso “Guero” Vigil, Manuel “Manny” Vigil, Anthony Vigil and George Vigil, brother-in-law Johnny Mora. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Larry Mora, daughter Monica Sandoval (Jon Sandoval) and son Joe “Shorty” Mora Also surviving is her sister Cecilia Birkhimer, brother Leroy Vigil, sister-in-law’s Veronica Vigil, Erlinda Vigil, Corine Mora Fernandez (David Fernandez), Bernadette Mora and Corine Vigil, Florence Serna and many more close relatives and friends. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, September 6th at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Reception will follow immediately after at the St. Anne’s Parish Hall.
