Clara Cajete

July 29, 1925 — June 20, 2006

Clara Cajete – Age 80 a resident of Santa Clara Pueblo passed away on Tuesday, June 20th, 2006. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alejandro Cajete; and mother, Anna Maria Cajete. May they rest in peace. Clara loved to teach the Tewa Language at the Santa Clara Day School and she was active in the Senior Program. She is survived by her son, Gregory Anthony Cajete and wife Marian Patricia of Santa Clara Pueblo; daughter, Teresa Cajete of Albuquerque; sisters and brothers: Maggie Salazar and husband Alex of Santa Clara Pueblo, Frank Naranjo of Santa Clara Pueblo, Pauline Cajete-Pasqua of Susanville, California and Jose Manuel Cajete of Santa Clara Pueblo; grandson, James Cajete of Los Angeles, CA; nephews and nieces: Jeanette, Michael, Virginia, Bernadette, Christopher, Stephanie, James, AnnMarie, Gilbert; and numerous grand nephews and nieces and other loving family members and friends. A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 21st, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 22nd, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. at the Santa Clara Pueblo Catholic Church with Father Dale officiating. Burial will follow at the Santa Clara Pueblo Cemetery. The family of Clara Cajete has placed their trust in the Rivera family of Block-Salazar Mortuary.
