Clara Montoya

CLARA M. MONTOYA, 97, of Santa Fe, passed away January 5, 2016. She was born March 14, 1918 in Roy, New Mexico, the daughter of Celedon and Pauline Zablocki Esquibel. She and Bernard Montoya were married on June 4, 1939 in Roy. He preceded her in death. She is also preceded by her parents, Celedon and Pauline; and her two sons, Tony and Paul Montoya.Clara is survived by her two sons, Bob Montoya (Bernadette) of Santa Fe and Tom Montoya (Liz) of Albuquerque; grandson Don A. Montoya and wife Charlotte of Chandler, AZ and their children, Isabelle and Aubrey; Grandaughters, Rachel Baca and husband Lawrence of Albuquerque, and Charlene MacBain and husband Kevin of Albuquerque; grandson, Andres Montoya of Albuquerque; her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Dulce Maria Esquibel of Chicago, and brother, Joe Esquibel of Chicago.Clara’s family wishes to thank everyone for their love and care for our mother. We thank especially Andrea, Richard and Raymond for their kind care shown to her during the last few months.Visitation will begin at 9:30 am Friday, January 8, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church, where a rosary will be recited at 10:00 am Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday also at St. Anne Church, and interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Don A. Montoya, Andres Montoya, Dan Montoya, Michael Montoya, Don Gonzales, Jr, and Carlos Gonzales.Her family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be offered to The Heritage Hospice, or to the Carmelite Sisters, Mt. Carmel Road, Santa Fe, NM.
