Cleto Ramirez

Long time resident of New Mexico, Cleto Ramirez, passed away at home on April 11, 2024, at the age of 86, in El Rito New Mexico. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1937 to Guadalupe and Jesus Ramirez.  He spent most of his life in San Fernando, California. It was in California that Cleto met Agatha Nevarez. Cleto became a general contractor and joined his local carpenter’s union. Cleto and Agatha were wed on October 21, 1957. Cleto and Agatha went on to have four children, Eric, Edwina, Elena and Esperanza.

In 1994 Cleto and Agatha moved from San Fernando, California to El Rito, New Mexico, where they called home for 30 years. His family describes him as a proud and hardworking man. He was a man who worked tirelessly building their home. He loved the outdoors and spent time camping, fishing, and playing baseball. His favorite pastime was playing golf. Cleto will be fondly remembered for his brilliant story telling. He was artistic in so many ways.  When it came time to relax in the evening he loved to watch tv, especially the history channel and jeopardy. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Agatha Ramirez, his son, Eric Ramirez, daughter in law, Suzanne Ramirez, grandson, Ryan Ramirez, grand daughter in law, Brittney Ramirez, grandson, Adam Ramirez, daughter Edwina Nunez, son in law, Sergio Nunez, grandson, Alex Nunez, grand daughter in law Suzanne Said-Nunez, great grandson Oliver Nunez, great granddaughter, Nour Nunez, granddaughter, Erica Nunez-Lazo, grandson in law, Rudis Lazo, great grandson, Mateo Lazo, daughter, Elena Bernal, grandson, Anthony Bernal, grandson, Adrian Bernal, grandson, Benito Bernal III, granddaughter, Celina Bernal, daughter, Esperanza Cervantes, son in law, Javier Cervantes, grandson, Matthew Cervantes, and granddaughter Chloe Cervantes.
