CONNIE LEYBA

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, was taken to be with our Lord to eternal life on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.  She was born on October 31, 1937, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Luis and Eduvigen Martinez.  She loved music and to dance. Connie was such a lovable person to everyone she encountered.  She will be truly missed!

She is preceded in death by her daughter Jennie Romero; parents Luis and Eduvigen Martinez; parent-in-laws Luis and Florinda Leyba; sisters Helen Lucero and Rosina Jimenez, brother Carlos Martinez, sister-in-laws Antonia Martinez, Katie Baca, Selina Byers, Toni Montoya, Ramona Leyba, Chanita Leyba, Pauline Leyba; brother-in-laws Mike Leyba, Jackie Byers, Author Hentzen, Tomas Gonzales, Victor Vandersommen.

Connie will be remembered by her loving husband of 64 years Cayetano Leyba, sons Louie Leyba (wife Krisha), Leroy Leyba (wife Melisa); daughter Lorraine Bowser; son-in-law Ramon Romero; grandchildren AshLee Leyba, Ariel Leyba, Lisa Leyba, Leroy Leyba Jr., Dionna Bowser, Rose Romero, Ramon Romer Jr.; great grandchildren Arriana Terraza, Aalyivah Leyba, Eamon Connerty Jr., Elijah Connerty, A’Ishah Romero, Amerie Romero, Nevaeh Romero and Lukis Trujillo; brothers Kelly Martinez, Richard Martinez; sister-in-laws Mary Jo Gonzales, Mary Louise Rodriguez (husband Mike), Marcella Vandersommen, Aurora Hentzen, Tommie Leyba; brother-in-laws Jerry Leyba, Paul Leyba, Ray Leyba (wife Vicky), Pasqual Baca, Albert Montoya; and many nieces/nephews and dear friends.

A special thank you to Amber Care Hospice, especially her nurse Rachel and aide Brenda and her two healthcare providers, Cathy and Nicole.

A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 9:00 AM at St. Anne’s Church, followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
