Conry “Connie” Prada age 92, passed away on November 28, 2020 to join our beloved Lord in Heaven. She was born on November 26, 1928 in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
She is preceded in death by: Father, Melisendro Gallegos, Mother, Senaida Gallegos, Husband, Jimmy Prada, Son, Rudolph Prada, Son, Floyd Prada, Granddaughter, Samara Prada, Brother, Joe Mel Gallegos, Brother, Freddie Gallegos, Brother, Elias Benny Gallegos, Sister-in-law Mary Gallegos, Brother, Philip Gallegos, Son-in-law, Larry “Skeeter” Gonzales, Sister-in-law, Helena Gallegos, Brother-in-law, Joe Romero.
She is survived by: Daughter, Mary “Nena” Gonzales (Phil Valdez), Daughter, Louana Prada, (Joe Montoya), Son, David Prada (Judy), Son, Mel Prada (Therese), Daughter, Corrine Sapien (Frank), Son, Edward Prada, Daughter, Lillian Prada, Daughter, Emily Langell (Paul), Son, Raymond Prada, (Jennifer), Daughter, Rosalie Baros (Ernie), Sister, Estella Romero, Brother, Jimmy Gallegos (Toni Ann), Brother, Jerry Gallegos, Sister, Tessie Montano, Brother, Mel “Rubel” Gallegos (Alice), Sister, Olivia Chavez (Salvador), Brother, John Gallegos, 22 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Granddaughter.
Conry “Connie” Prada was also known as La Mera Mera de Agua Fria. She enjoyed listening to KSWV Radio Station every day. She enjoyed dedicating songs to her family and many friends. She was the Seladora for the Agua Fria Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) that has been in the family for many years. The Holy Family traveled starting from San Ysidro Church making its way to different homes within the Village. She attended all events helping to keep traditions alive in the Agua Fria Village including: Las Posadas, El Dia de San Ysidro, and the Santa Fe River Blessing. She also participated in the Oral History interviews funded by the Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area, so her spirit lives on.
Conry “Connie” was a homemaker. She loved making tortillas. She was blessed with 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls, 22 grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter. Conry “Connie” lived to see her 5th Generation; not many people have that opportunity to see 5 Generations. She was also blessed with many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral mass and interment will be private, services will be held for Immediate Family.
