CONSUELO (CARRILLO) PEÑA - 85, lifelong resident of Santa Fe, NM, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on February 25, 2021. She was born on March 5, 1935, to loving parents, Andres and Amy Carrillo.  After 42 years of working at The Shed Restaurant where she was a beloved cook and held in high regard by the staff (her second family) and customers.  Consuelo retired to spend quality time with her friends, family and her grandchildren.  Her passion for cooking, crocheting and cross stitch had her busy throughout a lot of her retirement making gifts for family and friends.  She thoroughly enjoyed walks with her sister Florence and their early morning breakfasts, shopping and occasional gambling.  Consuelo is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years Pete; siblings, Manuel (wife Rosemary), Florence (husband Guadalupe), Albert (wife Virginia); Uncle, Frank Dofflemeyer (wife Carmen); nephew, Edward Carrillo; grandson, Peter Andrew; brother-in-law Max (Evelyn); brother-in-law Louis Rivera (Patsy); grandparents Cosme & Feliciana Carrillo and Ramon & Martinita Garcia.  She is also preceded in death by Pete & Francis Peña and Socorro Sandoval.  She is survived by her daughters Amy (Martin), their daughter Eliana; Elena (Steve), their sons Estevan and Alejandro; and Rosemary, her children Christina, Patrick and Matthew; and brother, Edward Carrillo (Margie) and their children Cindy, Sheila and Paul; sister-in-law, Judith (Thomas Gonzales) and their children Michael and Vicente; brother-in law Arcy Peña and his children Gregory and Felicia; and sister-in-law Nordella Peña.  Consuelo is also survived by her lifelong friends, Raymond and Josie Gallegos and Willie and Angie Garcia, special cousin, Martha Frank and all her nieces and nephews.  The family would like to give a special thanks to Isabel Tafoya Diaz for assisting us in taking such wonderful care of her.   The family would also like to give a special thanks to Father Larry Brito and Deacon Juan Martinez for their prayers and support during this difficult time.

The Holy Rosary will be prayed for Consuelo at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Santa Fe on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:00AM followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM.  (This is a public service for 110 people per COVID guidelines).
