Corine Cisneros of Questa was called home by our Father in Heaven on July 29, 2011. Corine was currently a resident of Taos Living Center and had celebrated her 101st birthday on May 25, with family, staff and other residents. She received a proclomation making May 25 Corine Cordova Cisneros day in Questa. This was awarded to her by Mayor Pro-tem Lawrence Ortega. She was the oldest known living resident of Questa, and the oldest resident of the Taos Living Center. Her first proclamation was received at her 100th birthday by Mayor Ester Garcia on May 25, 2010 proclaiming May 25 as Corine Cisneros day in Questa, New Mexico. She was born to Petrolino and Piedad Cordova on May 25, 1910. She was married to Adelmo Cisneros, her ex-husband who preceded her in death, her parents, Petrolino and Piedad, uncle who raised her, Abran Ortega, brother, Jose Cordova (Marina), nieces, Loretta Mondragon, Josephine Cordova, nephew, Ted Cordova, Grandmother, Petra Mondragon Ortega, uncle, Ben Romero (Eutimia) who also shared in raising her as a child. She is survived by nephew and long time caregiver, Antonio A. Cordova, nieces, Martha Romero (Trankie), Peggy Struck (Steve), Cecilia Martinez (Ernesto) along with many other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited on August 02, 2011. Funeral mass was held on August 03, 2011. Both services were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Cerro. Interment was held at the San Pedro Cemetery.
