Corinne V. Martinez, 91 a resident of Santo Nino passed away in the early morning of March 11, 2020. Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, Conce and Fidelita Vigil, husband Jose Fermin Martinez, sons Ronald, Kenneth, and Joey Martinez, grandson Matthew Martinez, sisters and brothers, Mable Duran, Ben Vigil, Ernie Vigil, and Gloria Martinez.
Corinne is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Vigil, Arlene Archuleta (Adelmo), Denise Ornelas, Nadine Martinez (Gilbert), and Melissa Valdez (Leonard), grandson raised as a son, Ronald Martinez, granddaughters who were like her children, Ashley, Brittany, Alyssa, and Angel, her 21 grandchildren that she adored and loved, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sisters, Donelia Herrera, Priscilla Martinez, and brother-in-law Harold W. Martinez, sister-in-law Carmen Vigil, and many nieces and nephews whom were always so great to her and she loved spending time with.
Corinne was a longtime teacher’s assistant for the Espanola schools where she enjoyed working with children and getting to spend time with her own grandchildren while they attended school. Corinne loved listening to Spanish music and telling stories. She was an outspoken woman and always had the best words of wisdom to offer. She would always dedicate songs to her loved ones on their birthdays on KDCE and would love to call them to tell them to listen out for the dedication. Corinne truly loved everyone unconditionally and her heart had no limits. She was very accepting and welcoming to all. Corinne will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She will be forever cherished in our hearts.
Friends and Family are welcome to join the Martinez family for a viewing at 8:30AM at Rivera Family Funeral Home on Saturday March 14, 2020.
The rosary will be prayed at 10AM on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, mass of christian burial will follow at 11AM and the burial will follow the services at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Serving the family as pallbearers are Ronald Martinez, Benny Vigil, Dominic Apodaca, Andrew Apodaca, Harold A. Martinez, and Licho Rascon. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ronald J. Martinez, Harold W. Martinez, Leonard Valdez, Rocky Gonzalez and Juan Ornelas.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Benny and Lyann Vigil and family, Louie and Valerie Sandoval, Jeremiah Martinez, Ricardo Estrada, Dwayne Sanchez, Austin Martinez, Licho and Viola Rascon and The Duran and Herrera Families.
