Crisofora "Popolo" G. Quintana, 89, of Taos passed away on September 24, 2005. Popolo retired as a city planner from the city of Los Angeles and also from the Taos County Planning Department. He served in the Army during WWII, was a member of Compadre of the Eagles and was widely known as a "Good Guy". He is preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Eloisa Quintana, his brother, Edmundo Quintana, his sister, Stella Sisneros, sons, Ferdie and Steve Quintana, his daughter, Marlou Quintana and grandson, Estevan Quintana. He is survived by his wife, Ada, son, Dr. Paul Quintana (Lee) of Los Gatos, CA, his daughter-in-law Amy Quintana of Taos, his grandsons, Jake Quintana of Taos, Jason Quintana of Portland, OR , Larry Quintana, Shaune Quintana both of Seattle WA, granddaughter, Felize Thamert of Albuquerque, great grandsons, Jesse Quintana of Seattle, WA, Chaz Nettleton of Aspen, CO and Devon Dominquez of Albuquerque and numerous compradres, relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at 7 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Taos. A public viewing will be on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 5 PM to 7 PM at the Rivera Chapel. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe, followed by interment at the Sierra Vista Cemetery. Arrangements by Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home.
