Dan E. Apodaca passed away on Tuesday, the 20th of March, 2018, in Santa Fe at the age of 61. He was born in Raton, New Mexico on September 7, 1956. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike T. Apodaca, daughter, Eve Maestas and sister, Dorothy Trego. He is survived by his mother, Nora Bernal Apodaca of Marquez, TX, daughter, Danielle Jo Apodaca of Las Vegas, NM, sisters Joan Martin of Montgomery TX, Diane Arguello of Vista, CA, brothers Mike Apodaca of Conroe, TX and Mario Apodaca of Marquez, TX and many extended family members and dear friends.
Dan grew up on the family ranch in Tinaja, NM, and attended school in New Mexico. He was handsome, charming, smart, generous and had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He was a talented, self-made businessman who created a construction company that served northeastern New Mexico, furnishing services to both the private and public sector, including some of the public entities in Santa Fe.
He will be greatly missed by those who loved him, especially the light of his life, Danielle Jo, his mother, Nora and the many family members and friends who knew him. He was an organ donor, and his last act was one of selflessness to benefit many others who are in medical need.
The memorial service will be Saturday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Rivera Family Funeral Home, 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM.
