Daniel Gallegos

Daniel Gallegos- age 85 of Espanola and formerly of Ojo Caliente, died peacefully on Saturday May 1, 2010. He was preceded by death by his parents Alejandro and Virginia Gallegos, step mother Elisa Gallegos and brother Andres Gallegos. Daniel was known to many as "Prim", short for primo. He was liked by everyone who met him; he was always joking around. For many years he walked everywhere he went, and met many people along the way. He was vary fond of kids and was always offering to shake their hand; they always put a smile on his face. He enjoyed going to church, and going to the Senior Stroke Center to visit with people and listen to music. He will be dearly missed. He is Survived by his sister Ramoncita Tafoya of Espanola; step-sister Sadie Ortiz and husband Juan of Albuquerque, a special niece Beth Pacheco of Espanola, and many other nieces and nephews. Public visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 4th followed by a devotional Service at 7:00 p.m. in the Rivera Family Funeral Home Chapel in Espanola. The funeral sevices will be held on Wednesday May 5th at 10:00am also in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Vigil officiating. Interment will follow at the Los Ancones Cemetery, located between La Madera and Vallecitos. Serving as pallbearers are: Tony Gallegos, Sr., Tony Gallegos, Jr., Ernesto Valdez, Floyd Valdez, Marcos Valdez, Jimmy Gallegos, Manuel Griego and Robert Griego. Honorary pallbearer: Murphy Griego.
