Daniel Perea, born December 17, 1957 was called home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2022, after a short battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side. Daniel was born in Santa Fe and was raised in La Cienega, a place he always loved, cherished and held very near and dear to his heart.At just 17 years old, Daniel joined the United States Marine Corps. He was very proud of his service and accomplishments during his time in the military. Daniel was also a very talented machinist by trade for many years. He was also retired from the United States Postal Service.Daniel was a very loving caring husband to his wife Janie, father, brother, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. Daniel only wanted the best for all he has loved and cared for. He always wanted all that he loved and cared for to do good for themselves. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Tennessee Titans. He enjoyed watching Nascar and playing guitar. He always had a love for music. Daniel always passed on his knowledge and knew the right words to say. Daniel always held true to everything he said and did. He was a very honorable and wise man.Daniel is preceded in death by his parents; Cayetano and Ramona Perea, grandson; Matthew Perea, brothers; Joseph and Robert Perea, sister-in- law; Ginger Perea, nephews; Alex and Juan Perea, nieces; Cynthia Perea and Tania Larranaga, great nephew; Isaiah Perea.Daniel is survived by his loving wife Janie, daughters Sarah Debaca (John), Tina Wilder (George), sons; Frank (Teri), Kurt (Jen), and Billy Lacasella. Grandchildren, Joshua DeBaca (Star), Anthony Perea, Jessika Pennebaker (Joey), William Lacasella (Jenna), Faith Lacasella, Melissa and Michael Morgan, granddaughter; Hannah Lacasella,, great grandchildren, Peyton DeBaca, Jonah Perea, Amelia Lacasella, Ariana, Jace Morgan and Judiah Perea, goddaughter; Ramona Anaya-Jennings (Dave), godson; Rafael Perea (Annika); brother; Alex Perea, sisters; Frances Fowler (Jim), Maria Lopez (Mike), special friend Marcos. As well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extended family.Daniel will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved himServices will be held on June 28, 2022, from 12pm-1pm at the Kiva Chapel of Light, 417 East Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, NM. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2pm.
