Danny lost his battle to cancer on January 20, 2021. He was a humble man with a quiet demener, never asking for help. But always ready to help others.

He served in the National Guard for 6 years. He worked and retired from the New Mexico State Highway Department. Danny was always planning ahead and had opened Land of Enchantment Mobile Home Supply in 1989. So that he would continue to work. Danny also opened a restaurant in 2001 “Las Tres Campanas” with his partners, Jose Morfin and Darlene Guerrero. He also had a restaurant inside District Court “El Barrio”.

Danny was not an idle man he was always busy. He had 10 rentals that he constructed and all his tenants loved him and never looked at him as their landlord, but as a friend and advisor.

We would like to say a big thank you to Leroy Gallegos for being there for Danny with his health scares and his many projects. Leroy was more a friend then a tenant. Also a thank you to Marvin Welch for being a great support of 33 years.

Danny took great care of his parents always saying they would come first before anything or anyone.

Danny loved being outside and always working on new project, back in the days he loved riding his “Harley Davidson”. He loved playing horse shoes, many people might remember him when he started the annually Horse Shoe Tournaments out in Pecos, NM. He loved playing volleyball and sponsored thee team.

Lets not forget how he loved every weekend doing his yard sales, just recently he had started doing arts and crafts by making wood handmade crosses.

He was also major Raiders fan he was always ready to cheer on his team sitting in his recliner on Sundays. He also got to do a lot of traveling including, Paris, Hawaii and Spain which he enjoyed with all his heart.

We can’t forget his cat (Gorgie) that he took care of for many years he was a special pet in Danny’s heart. He was very extremely patient and that was a blessing because his best friend was his 7 old great granddaughter (Xitclaly) and boy does she talk.

Danny was blessed to have been taken care of by his daughters: Darlene and Donna and his granddaughter Ariel that he loved as a daughter.

We want to thank three nurses at Presbyterian of Santa Fe on the second floor room 221. He was admitted 3 times to the same room and twice to room 220. The love and respect all you nurses gave our dad is greatly appreciated. Also all the doctors at Presbyterian took extra steps of care of him.

A big thanks to New Mexico cancer center in Albuquerque, especially doctor Bansal and nurse Christine and asst Shanon.

Thank you Jesus for walking every step with Danny reminding him that mercy and grace was being poured over his body. Thanks to all the people that prayed daily for Danny.

We miss you and our hearts are broken but, until the day comes that we can hold your hand again we will rejoice knowing you’re in the “Kingdom of Heaven”.

Service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light.
