Darlene Guillen

Mrs. Darlene Guillen, age 49 of Velarde, NM. died peacefully on Friday January 13, 2012 in Albuquerque. She was a lifelong resident of Velarde, was loving in the respect that she placed her families' needs before her own, and was always a very strong person. She was preceded in death by her husband Marty Guillen, and father Bernardo Valdez, and is survived by her daughters; Monica Lopez and husband Santiago of Albuquerque, Darla Serrano and husband Maurice of Albuquerque, and Anna Guillen of Velarde, Mother Anita Valdez, siblings: Velma Martinez and husband Leroy, Gene Valdez and wife Georgia, Felix Valdez and wife Mary Agnes, Elmo Valdez and wife Mabel, Andy Valdez and wife Veronica, Bernardo Valdez, Jr. and wife Aggie, Gloria Brito and husband Wayne all of Velarde, Rafaelita Garcia and husband Alfred of El Guache, in-laws: Martin Guillen and wife Fela', Lori Ann Keith, Debbie Guillen, Cathy Atencio and husband Larry, Carlos Guillen and wife Eileen, grandsons Emiliano & Navid Lopez, as well as other relatives. Recitation of the Rosary was held on January 15, 2012 at our Lady of Guadalupe Cathilic Church in Velarde. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on January 16, 2012 also at the church, with Fr. Vitus officiating. Interment was followed at the Catholic cemetery in Velarde, the following served as pallbearers: Adrian Brito, Justin Rivera, Larry Atencio, Jr., and David, Mark and Lawrence Valdez. Honorary pallbearers will be Emiliano & Navid Lopez.
