David M. Chacon, 65, left Taos, N.M. on April 17, 2013 with a smile on his face. His normal every day hustle-and-bustle non-stop energizer bunny life came to what he would have considered an inconvenient end. David had the pleasure and honor of being continuously escorted in life and death by his fire department family.
In an unending show of support and the impact Chacs had on his community, his life will be celebrated by family and friends and will be surrounded in his burial in spirit by his wife, Sophia and his grandparents Amada and Epimenio Chacon and in-laws, Jose and Maria Fernandez (who all predeceased him) and by his children, Michelle, David [Tina], Marie and Francisco, his grandchildren, Christina and Valentino and the twins, Mikayla and Nickolas. Also, joining the celebration of Davids life were his siblings and their families including Mante [Gloria] Chacon, Barbara [Sonny] Pacheco, Robert Chacon, Phillip Valdez and the entire community of relatives and friends.
David would have everyone know that you will now have to find a new source for your Rocky Ford Cantaloupes and other produce, beans, chili and furniture needs. In the end, David lived life to its fullest and on a day-to-day basis exemplified by example, that we can leave the world a better place than we found it.
Rosary was recited on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Funeral mass was held on Monday, April 22, 2013. Both services were held at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church.
