David Ernest Gallegos Jr.

David Ernest Gallegos Jr., 63, passed away on December 3, 2017 peacefully with his sons by his side. Born on March 17, 1954, in Santa Fe, NM, David was the son of David Gallegos Sr. and the late Helen Gallegos of Santa Fe, NM. He is survived by his father, David Gallegos Sr.; sisters, Velma Sanchez and Sandra Payne and their spouses Chuck Sanchez and Douglas Payne; sons, David Gallegos III and Isaac Gallegos; three beloved grandchildren, Alydra, Stephen, and Danielle Gallegos; five nieces, one nephew; and many grandnephews and grandnieces. He graduated from Santa Fe High School and worked for thirty years at the State of NM Office of the Attorney General until retirement. David enjoyed watching the news and Bronco football games, listening to Mariachi music, and drinking spirits. He touched the lives of so many people and will be forever remembered for his carefree personality, sense of humor, and love of the song, “Tell The People I Love Them.” He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A Rosary will be held at San Isidro Catholic Church in Santa Fe on December 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. and a mass immediately following. He will be laid to rest at the Rosario Cemetery following the mass. The family would like to thank Vanessa Taylor (niece) for organizing the services.
