David Roy Delling, Age 80, of Taos, New Mexico went peacefully with our Lord on October 5, 2016. David was born August 5, 1936 in Kirkwood, Missouri to William Delling and Florence Flumerfelt Delling. David served in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Florida. After completing his military service, David attended Rolla School of Mines in Rolla, Missouri where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering. David worked in the mining industry where he served as the plant manager of Stauffer Chemical’s soda ash operations in Green River, WY, followed by employment with Tenneco Minerals to design, construct and eventually manage the trona mine and beneficiation plant at Green River, Wyoming. David was appointed to President of Tenneco Minerals in 1983 and he continued to serve in that capacity after the sale of the Company to Solvay Minerals in May 1992. He retired as President from Solvay Minerals and moved to Taos, New Mexico in December 1993. David continued to consult to and serve on various Board of Directors of mining companies after retirement. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Max and Martha Delling, parents, sister-in-law, Arlene Delling and nephew, Jeff Delling. David is survived by his wife of 20 years, Andrea B. Delling, two daughters, Jane Delling Baty (husband, Ken Baty and two daughters, Sydney Baty and Stephanie Baty and son, David Baty) and Anne E. Delling (husband, Steve Moser and daughter, Athena Delling Cousins), step son, Joe Delling (wife, Yona Delling, son, Carson Delling, and daughter, Bella Delling), brother, Eugene Delling, and three nieces, Susan Wahlig (husband, Steve Wahlig, and two sons, Michael and Eric Wahlig), Pam Carter (husband, Robbie Carter and son, Adam Carter, and Sandy Feher (husband, Jim Feher, son, Sean Feher, and two daughters, Savannah and Sienna Feher), and nieces, Melissa Coffey and Alicia Delling and nephew, Scott Delling.Visitation was held on October 10, 2016. Funeral services following at Rivera Funeral Home. Located at 818 Paseo de Pueblo Sur, Taos, New Mexico. Burial with military honors were held on October 11, 2016 at the Silver Cliff Cemetary, located in Silver Cliff, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
