David Stoll

d. October 26, 2015

David Robert Stoll passed away October 26, 2015 after a yearlong struggle with pancreatic cancer. His longtime partner, Leslie Ingham, and son Charlie, were at his side at the time of his passing. David was born in Portland, Oregon and raised in the Portland area. He was a 1982 graduate of Southern Oregon State College in Ashland, OR with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management. During college, he acted as a volunteer professional ski patrolman at Ski Ashland, and later, as a professional ski patrolman for Apache Sunrise, AZ and Taos Ski Valley, NM. As a true child of the Northwest, David developed a passion for outdoor activities at an early age. Be it bicycling, mountaineering, rock climbing, skiing, golfing, a days long trek through the mountain areas he loved, or participation in the Stoll family annual golf tournament, David pursued them all with equal fervor. David continued to pursue these same activities during his long residence in Taos, New Mexico. He and Leslie developed a large group of friends in the Taos area who shared their passion for the outdoors. David also developed many relationships in his work as a slope groomer and ski instructor at the Taos Ski Valley, as well as his decades of professional work as an insurance agent and financial services representative. In addition to his other skills, David was also the consummate handyman. No project for the home he and Leslie shared or for any of his circle of friends was too complex for David to tackle. However the best expression of any of Davids gifts reside in his sons Chris and Charlie. Both boys have memories of the special times they spent with their dad in the outdoors and working on home projects. David is preceded in death by his father Robert F Stoll. He is survived by his partner Leslie Ingham, his sons Christopher D Stoll and Charles R Stoll, his mother Joyce A Stoll, his sisters Barbara E Stoll, Nancy E Newton, and Nora L Salinas. There will be a celebration of Davids life at the Taos Country Club on November 11, 2015 at 6:00PM. All who knew him are welcome. Arrangements by Rivera Family Funeral Home.
