Debera Lynn Carlton age 64; Deb or Debbie to those who knew her. Entered eternal life on May 9, 2018 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born to Delbert & Phyllis Coulter April 9, 1954 in Fort Sills, Oklahoma. She attended Lamar Community College working towards a nursing degree. Shortly after starting school she changed her mind and went into law enforcement. She served the town of Holly, Colorado and as a reserve for the town of Lafayette, Colorado. She met her husband, Gene Carlton, in Lafayette and on June 21, 1984 they married, growing the family to six children. In 1994, after becoming empty nesters, they relocated to Veguita, New Mexico, where she and Gene lived and worked until they retired. For many years she and husband enjoyed RVing and traveling the United States, showing their children different states and instilling the camping and traveling bug into them. She loved animals and would do anything for them including adopting and rehoming homeless pets. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, Debbie Kay and stepson Timothy (Tim) Carlton. She is survived by her husband Gene, sisters Della Cummings and Docia Coulter; and her children Glena (G.G) Johnson and Tomalin (Toma) Raley. Her stepchildren, Sam, Joe and Bill Carlton, eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition, extended family, Keshia Flock and her three children Bailey, Will and her late daughter Megan. Services have yet to be determined, but the family is asking that in lieu of flowers that those who wish would donate to an animal shelter or even go so far as to adopt a homeless pet as this was her passion.
