Dedre Will

Dedre (Dee) Umoja Will, birth name of Dorcas Norene Williams, was born on August 4, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas and passed away on July 11, 2022, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Dedre was preceded by her parents, Raymond and Hattie Williams, and by four of six elder brothers.  Dedre is survived by Willow Rose (aka Jocelyn Polikoff), her beloved partner and wife of 28 years and cherished as family.  Surviving family are two elder brothers, her younger brothers and sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews.  Dedre worked in the retail industry and in music and arts.  Dedre, a phenomenal writer, wrote poetry and songs, played piano, acted in theater, and studied philosophy / literature at universities in Chico and San Francisco, California earning a Bachelor of Arts degree.  Dedre is kindly remembered as a very caring person in the community where she long resided in Santa Fe, NM.  A loving mentor, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, we cherish precious times spent with her and she is forever in our hearts, minds, souls. Dearly beloved eldest sister and daughter is called home to everlasting love, faith, and peace by the grace of God, but we will never part. 

SERVICES: Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, Rosario Cemetery 499 N. Guadalupe, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
