Delfino Montoya

Delfino Montoya, age 84, Del to friends, of Santa Fe, NM, returned to Our Lord in heaven on Monday, November 14, 2016 at home, surrounded by loving family. May 23, 1931 Delfino was born in Santa Fe. A decorated war veteran, Del served in the US Navy 1951-1955 during the Korean war. In 1956 he married Susana Anchondo; they were blessed with 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grand children. Delfino spent 30 years working for Creamland Dairies, then Santa Fe County. Family was Delfino's priority and he especially loved children. You could always find him listening to 98.5 and playing the harmonica in the sun. He enjoyed the outdoors and took the family camping every weekend. Delfino was an excellent provider, a hard worker and brought pride and joy to his tasks. Delfino was proceeded in death by his parents Ralph and Irene Montoya, his brothers John, Arthuro, and Patricio, and his Grandson Michael Trujillo. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 yeas, his son Delfino Jr, (Danette), daughters Roberta (Tobias), Joan (Elise), Patricia (Daniel), and Socorro (Loren); grandchildren Phillip, Susan, Adam, Carmen, Dano, Jordan, Andrea, Cristina and Amelia; great grandchildren Tanner, Ezekiel and Chase, and his brother Joe (Marcella). Del will be greatly missed, it was an honor to be his family. Funeral services are at St. John the Baptist Church Friday, November 18th. Rosary begins at 8am with mass at 9am. A gathering for family and friends will be held at the Montezuma lodge directly following the mass. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Carmelite Monastery of Santa Fe. Thank you
