Dennis Mares

Dennis Anton Laforett Mares age 57 of Santa Fe passed away on Sunday June 26, 2016. Dennis was a Santa Fe High School graduate class of 1976 and graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Journalism. He worked as a volunteer at the St Francis Cathedral for over 20 years. Dennis is preceded in death by his Father Frank Mares. He is survived by his mother Rose Laforett brothers Daniel Mares (Anna) Dolan Mares, Sister Doris Laforett Nieces Victoria Chavez, Cristina Almanza (Cristobal), Nephew David Mares(Paige), Great niece Jacqueline Barela, Great nephew Anthony Joseph Mares as well as numerous cousins and friends. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 6:00pm at Rosario Chapel 499 N. Guadalupe St with a Rosary at follow . A Mass of Christian burial will be at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi on Friday, July 1, 12:30pm with a burial to follow Rosario Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Dennis asked that donation be sent to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter’s Spay and Neuter Clinic.
