Dennis Otero

Dennis Otero, 90, was called home by our heavenly father in the early morning of March 13, 2021. Dennis was born on March 27, 1930, in Tajique, NM.  Dennis was preceded in death by his loving wife Frances Otero in 2020; Parents: Perfecto Otero and Eloisa Otero Ulibarri;  father and mother-in-law Tomas and Teresita Gurule; four sisters-in-law and eight brothers-in-law. 

Dennis is survived by his children: Yolanda Green (Jim), Barbara Otero and Gerard Otero (Patricia Vigil).  Grandchildren: Nicholas Griego, Amanda Otero (Stevan Larranaga), Jolene Otero, Alyssa Otero and James Wesley Green. Great grandchildren: Michael, Dante, Jadon and Sevin.   Siblings:  Faye Mares, Eddie and Nora Trujillo, Severo and Irene Otero, Salomon and Patsy Otero, Leo and Elaine Otero, Sonny and Lorraine Otero, Eddie and Stella Montoya; Sisters-in-law: Pauline Coriz, Victoria Flores, Adelia (Dee Dee) Maruca, Beverly Gurule; Brothers-in-law: Jim Gurule, David Gurule, Rudy Gurule and Gregg Gurule, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dennis was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.  He retired from Santa Fe Public Schools. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, hunting, horses, old cars and dancing.  He also enjoyed spending time with friends and at the Casino.  He will be greatly missed and forever cherished.

A special Thank You and appreciation to his doctors, medical staff, Ambercare Hospice staff, nurses Jeannie and Aaron, Father Frank Pretto, Christus St. Vincent Hospital and the Santa Fe Fire Department. 

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Rivera Family Funeral Home - Santa Fe, 417 E. Rodeo Road. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens at the family plot. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make memorial donations to their favorite charity in memory of Dennis Otero.

He will be greatly missed and forever cherished "as our Cowboy rides away."
