Derek R. Romero was called home by our Lord February 26, 2022. Derek was born December 13, 1988, Santa Fe, NM. Derek attended Santa Fe Public Schools and as a youngster participated in little-league, wrestling and football. As a teenager he excelled on the basketball court. He really enjoyed participating and traveling out of town to AAU basketball tournaments.
He loved the outdoors. Hiking, fishing, camping; he loved it all. Night time fishing with friend Brian always conjured up real fish stories. Turkey hunting with friends was another one of his interests. Though rarely successful just being out in the wilderness Derek seemed to be in his element. Of all Derek’s passions, he was most proud of his two daughters Mikaila and Ella. He always did his best to care and provide for them. He truly loved his girls.
Derek is preceded in death by his Father Larry Lynch, Grandmother Clara (Gramies) Romero, Uncle Henry and Aunt Maria Maes, Uncle Ambrosio and Aunt Jesse Maes, Aunt Rose Mc Tigue. Cousins Bobby dude Borrego, and Anthony Maes.
He is survived by his Mother Cindy Romero and Father Gene (Gino) Fulgenzi, both of Santa Fe, NM. Daughters Mikaila Romero and Ella Romero. Brothers Robert (Rog) Romero and Al Fulgenzi, Sister-In-Law Heather Romero; Uncle Roberto Borrego and Aunt Debbie Romero, Uncle Richard and Aunt Michelle Galaz, Uncle Robert and Aunt Lucretia Romero, Uncle DJ and Aunt Charmaine Espinoza, Uncle Mike and Aunt Diane Romero, Uncle Steve and Aunt Jackie Marez, Aunt Melanie Le Douix, Uncle Dennis Fulgenzi and Grandfather Gene R.
