Dessie Martinez

Dessie Martinez, passed away on August 18, 2021 surrounded by his loving family by his side. He was born on September 24, 1963. He married Gloria Barbero-Martinez in Santa Fe, NM.

He was preceded in death by his father; Desi Martinez, grandmother; Cookie Ortega, Father In-law Gilbert Barbero, sister in-law; Carmela Barbero.

Survived by his loving wife; Gloria Barbero-Martinez, Son’s; Cisco Barbero (Cheyenne), Dessie Martinez (Ariana) and Luke Martinez, Mother; Ruby Ortega (Juan), mother in-law Angie Barbero, brother in-law; Manuel Barbero (Angelique), grandchildren Autumn, Jace, Anaveah and Tobias, nieces; Akisha Carrillo and Jayleen Barbero and nephew; Lawrence Carrillo.

Dessie retired from New Mexico State Penitentiary, Dessie loved his wife Gloria Barbero-Martinez very much both of them were inseparable. He Devoted and raised his son’s Cisco, Dessie and Luke. He was an amazing cook everyone enjoyed his food. He enjoyed Football, camping, fishing, listening to music and spending time with his family.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at Rivera Kiva Chapel of Light followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Interment will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.
