Donald Caulfield, age 86, of Santa Fe New Mexico passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 20th. Born in Bronx, New York on March 10, 1932, Donald was the son of the late Charles and Bridget Caulfield. He was a brother, uncle, and friend to many.
For much of his life, Donald proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He served multiple tours of duty in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War, eventually retiring with the rank of Major. In retirement, Donald remained passionate about his country and the United States Marine Corps.
Donald spent much of his time in retirement researching his family's Irish lineage, traveling, and visiting with family in Ireland, Australia and across the United States. He was the last surviving member of the Caulfield family from Ireland, having been predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Mary, Pat, and Diana, and also his nephews Rory and Liam Gordon, and his niece Kim Kaminsky.
He is survived by his many nieces and nephew's, Tara Gordon Vanderlei, Cory Gordon, Shannon Gordon Wolf, Deirdre Gordon Moran, Michael Kaminsky, Christopher Kaminsky, Mark Kaminsky, Gregory Kaminsky, Timothy Kaminsky, his many grand nephews and nieces, and also his great grand nephews and nieces who will all dearly miss him.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 27th at Santa Fe Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis 131 Cathedral Place, 9AM Mass, Burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 North Guadalupe 10:30 AM
