Donald C. Duran age 77 of Santa Fe, N.M. passed away June 21, 2016. He was born in Santa Fe, N.M. to Flora Griego and Candelario Duran.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife Donna Duran, parents Candelario and Flora Duran, sister Viola Duran, goddaughter Roberta Perea, father and mother-in-law Charles and Mary Lopez, brother-in-law Donald Babcock and sisters-in-law Phyllis Lopez and Matilda Lopez.
He is survived by his daughter Bernadette Holguin (David), son Donald Duran, grandchildren Brianna Holguin, David Holguin Jr., Mariah Duran, Krystalynn Duran, and Derrick Duran all of Santa Fe, brother’s Jimmy Duran (Ruth) of Rio Rancho, Leroy Duran and Robert Duran of Santa Fe, sister Marguerite Babcock of Albuquerque, special friend Lucy Brown of Santa Fe and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
During his life, Donald held a variety of occupations. He was a baker at the Home Bakery, a maintenance worker at the State Capital. A chef at Maria’s New Mexican Kitchen and a Maintenance worker with Santa Fe Public Schools form which he retired. Donald was a devout Catholic and member of St. Anne Church. Donald’s children and grandchildren were the light of his eyes and he loved the time he spent with them. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. He was an avid S.F. 49ers fan and loved his cars. He will be deeply missed by his family.
Pallbearers will be Don Babcock Jr., Jerome Lopez, Michael Lopez, Eugene Portillo, James Portillo and Paul Portillo.
A Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s Parish. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Parish followed by interment at the Rosario Cemetery.
