Donald Lanon

d. December 7, 2020

Donald Rogers “Rogers” Lanon passed away at his home in Angel Fire, New Mexico on December 7, 2010 at the age of 58. Rogers was born in 1962 in Oklahoma City, OK. He moved to Angel Fire where he fell in love with the area and decided to make it his home. Rogers had a number of careers in his life including automobile sales, wholesaling automobiles, real estate, and working with his sister in Mountain Home Services. His passion, however, was for his beloved mountain village and he threw himself into doing whatever he could to make it an even better place to live. Rogers participated in the Angel Fire Chamber Board of Directors where he held positions as the Chairman of the Board and Treasurer. He also held a position on Angel Fire Village Council and served as Mayor Pro-Tem. In his positions with the council and Chamber he introduced significant and needed improvements that benefited the community and the organizations. Rogers brought happiness just with his presence. His humor, intelligence, and common sense made being around him both fun and informative. He was very much loved by his family and friends, of which he had many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Lanon, who was instrumental in establishing an airport in Angel Fire, and Irene Lanon, who initially started Mountain Home Services in Angel Fire. He is survived by his sister, Vicki Lanon, of Angel Fire, New Mexico and brother, Douglas Lanon with wife, Cathy of Moore, Oklahoma, niece, Paula Lanon Presley and husband, Chad with children Gage and Alayna, niece, Pamela Lanon Kuhlman and husband, Shane with daughter, Paisley, nephew, Mathew Lanon and son, Braylon. He is also survived by many cousins, extended family and friends who loved, adored and will greatly miss him. His memory will always be loved and protected in the hearts and minds of so many people. Rest in peace, our dearest friend.
