Dorene Bourger

Dorene J. Bourger, 44 years old, passed away Tuesday, September 16. She was born October 11, 1963 in Espanola, NM to David R. and Sylvia C. Salazar. She is survived by her husband Fred H. Bourger, and three beautiful daughters Hillary, Alina, and Danielle Bourger, sister Denise S. Penning and husband Greg and their children Alyssia and Ariel of Papillion, Nebraska, brother Stephen S. Salazar and wife Renee and their children Hannah, Kayla, and Stephen Matthew of Espanola, NM. Father and Mother-in-law Charles Sr. and Stella Bourger, brother-in-law Charles Bourger and children Jarred, Ashley, and Tyler, sister-in-law Kathy Bourger and children Renee and Veronica, Brother-in-law David A. Bourger and wife Tamara and children Marlene, Chris, and Steven. Also survived by many great nephews and nieces and extended family. Dorene graduated from NMSU in 1986 with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. She worked at NM Human Services, USIS and Kroll. She was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed accompanying her daughters to every and all basketball games and other athletic activities. Fred and Dorene were never found apart. She had a wonderful smile and a cheerful greeting for everyone she met and will be greatly missed by those lives she touched. A Memorial Mass wil be held at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, on Saturday, October 25 at 5:30pm. Rosary was held at Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church, on Sunday, September 21 at 4:00 pm; Funeral mass was held at the same church on Monday, September 22 at 10:00 am with interment following at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerome Block, Chris Bourger, Ricky Salazar, Steven Bourger, Peter Salazar, and Johnny Estrada.
