Doris Santistevan

1956 — March 30, 2025

Doris Santistevan, 68 of Questa passed unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family on March 30. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and tia. She shared a beautiful marriage with Gene Santistevan for 50 wonderful years, creating a loving home for their two sons, Jeff (Kandace) and Donny (Santana) Santistevan. Doris was a proud grandmother to five cherished grandchildren: Jeremy, Jalyn, Aliyah, DJ, and Joel Santistevan. Doris will be joined in heaven by her parents, Henry and Carolina Cisneros, her beloved brothers, Randy Cisneros (Kate), Albert Cisneros, sister, Linda Cisneros, nephews Gary Cisneros, Nathaniel Cisneros, and great-great niece Claire Willey. She is survived by her brothers Rudy Cisneros (Vivian), Randy Cisneros (Tina), sisters, Florine Vialpando (Richard), Joyce Orgass (Charlie), sister-in laws, Esther Vasquez (Frank), Judy Griego (Levy) and Darlene Romanoski (Jeff) and numerous nephews and nieces that she absolutely adored.

Her vibrant spirit lit up every gathering, bringing pure joy and happiness to all who knew her. Doris was the life of the party, always ready with a smile and a kind word. Doris was the glue that held the family together, always hosting family events and checking in on everyone. You knew the love she had for you because she showed it every day. Doris was an amazing cook; she was especially known for her famous capulin jelly. Doris also had a special affection for picking piñon not necessarily for the natural gold, but for the time she got to spend with her family in the beauty of nature. You could go to any Questa Wildcat game and find her there cheering on not only her grandchildren, but the whole team. Even without a blood relation, so many of the kids called her Grandma Doris because she was so generous of her love and kindness. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Her warmth and spirit will be deeply missed, but her love will continue to shine through all those that she touched.

A service will be held on April 4, 2025 at 10AM at the Living Word Ministries in Questa. Burial to follow at El Pueblito Cemetery.
