Doris Brandon

1929 — October 3, 2024

Doris Lorriane Brandon passed away in her sleep on October 3rd, 2024, just one month after a milestone 95th birthday. Champagne corks were popping, and she enjoyed this party very much, celebrating with both family and friends.

Doris was born in Somerville, MA on September 3rd, 1929. She was part of a large extended family that greatly enjoyed living in the Boston area. She especially loved the ocean and walking along the beach. She was an avid swimmer.

In the early 1970's Doris moved to Taos, New Mexico where she dearly loved both family and community. She lovingly cared for her husbands, Brice Binning and Robert Brandon. Doris very much enjoyed gardening and birdwatching; as well as a yearly drive through the Enchanted Circle to enjoy a wonderful display of Fall color.

Active in her community, Doris was a Lector at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was on several church committees. She was on the Holy Cross Hospital Board for many years. Doris was awarded a thirty-year volunteer pin as a Holy Cross Hospital "Pink Lady". She loved the Arts and was a loyal volunteer for many years at both the Taos Fall Arts Select and Open Shows.

Doris is predeceased by her husband Bryce Binning and her husband Robert Brandon; her sons Kenneth William Blair Jr., Stephen Gerard Blair and Richard Paul Blair; Grandson, Richard Paul Jr.; as well as her parents Frances Horrigon-Bannon and William Bannon.

Doris is survived by her daughters, Janis Blair and Nancy Hogeland; Daughters-in-law, Karen McCurtain-Blair and Shelley Blair; as well as Kenneth Malcom Blair, father of her five children.  She is survived by Grandchildren, Katherine Cheney (Ryan), Robert Blair, Scott Blair (Avery), Stephanie de Jesus (Felix), Kevin Blair (DeeAnn), James Hogeland (Stephanie), Jason Hogeland and Taylor Blair. Doris had nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was very grateful for friend, Wendy Shaw.

A Memorial will be held in May.
