Doris Schachter passed away peacefully on April 28, 2016 in Santa Fe, New Mexico from complications pertaining to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.She was born on May 2, 1929 in New York City, New York. Doris lived a full and happy life and instilled a belief in all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to enjoy every second of life. She was a published poet, a dancer, worked in theater and traveled the world.She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Schachter and two of her sons, David and Paul Schachter.She is survived by her sisters, Della Wasserman, her sister Marilyn and her husband Russ Stedman, sister Sandy Schachter and her husband Woody, sons, Eric, Mike and Karl Schachter. Eric's wife, Bennie Schachter, grandchildren, Ryan and Chrystal Schachter, Ron and Lisa Martinez, Jerry and Tara Archuleta, Donna Archuleta, DeAudra and Eric DeLapp, grandson Adam Schachter, grandson Jason Schachter, grandson Dawson Schachter. Grandsons Matthew and Spencer. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and great-grandchildren.All the loved ones will not let her memory cause us sadness because that is not what she would have wanted. She was poet in the poem "Requiem" it says "I rather you forget me and be happy than to remember me and be sad'. Rest in Peace.
