Dorothy Jacquez – Age 77 a lifelong resident of Gallina passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernabe Jacquez; 2 sons: Bernie and Leroy Jacquez; mother, Leocadia Gonzales; and brothers: George and Gilbert Gonzales. She is survived by her children: Toni Jacquez of Abiquiu, Mary Ann Jacquez and companion Eddie Garcia, Leonard Jacquez and Jay Jacquez all of Española; sister, Carmelita Jacquez of Gallina; brothers: Toby Gonzales of Gallina and Joe Martinez of Bloomfield; grandchildren: Lucia Montoya of Santa Fe, Tracy Garcia of Española; Amanda and Janice Jacquez both of Santa Fe, Eddie Jacquez of Española, Harold Barela of Coyote, Valerie Trujillo of Farmington and Pammy Sanchez of Española; nieces and nephews: Kathy, Herman, Alvin, Pauline, Joyce and Jeffery Jacquez all of Gallina and Belinda Armijo of Santa Fe; and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Block-Salazar Mortuary where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Catholic Church in Gallina. The time of the funeral is pending at this time, you may call the mortuary throughout the day for the funeral time. Burial will follow the mass at the Gallina Cemetery.
