Dwight G. Lopez died after fighting a lengthy battle with cancer on March 29, 2021 in Santa Fe, NM. He was born on September 8, 1955 in Rodarte, NM. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, Telesfor & Seferina Lopez; brother Bealquin Lopez. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years Sandra Lopez; Son Daniel Lopez (Emily Lopez); Daughter Kristal Lopez-Owona (Christian Owona) soon to be Granddaughter Azera Lopez-Owona; brothers and sisters Theresa Sandlin (Edgar, deceased), Tomas Lopez (Viola), Priscilla Chacon (Mardoqueo), Virginia Sisneros (Abram Lovato), George Lopez (Laura), Louella Rodriguez, Lucia Lopez, Doris Caimi, Nick Lopez (Katherine O’Brien), Jane Lopez (Jim Connant) and Benjamin Lopez (Gloria).
Dwight was a veteran of the United States Air Force and completed his Masters of Business Administration. He was a man of many interests; entrepreneur, radiologist, landscaper and rancher. He loved to be in his home town of Rodarte tending to his acequias and cattle. His positivity radiated in his many friendships throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend that will be missed dearly.

Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in the Rivera Family Funerals & Cremations, Santa Fe with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Peñasco.
Burial to follow at the Family Cemetery in Rodarte with the following serving as pallbearers, Cecil Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, Victor Gallegos, Jesse Sanchez, Wilbert Rodriguez, Joseph Valdez, honorary pallbearers Ernesto Anaya and Christian Owona.
