Eddie S. Ortiz

Eduardo (Eddie) S. Ortiz, our beloved brother, uncle, God father, of Santa Fe, NM. passed away suddenly on Tuesday December 27, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose & Carmelita Ortiz, son James Ortiz, daughter Crystal Paiz, niece Roberta Ann Ortiz, nephew Jeffrey Ortiz, brothers in law; Nate Benavidez and Cristobal Montoya and sister in law Angie Ortiz. He was born in Santa Fe on July 25, 1952. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by brothers and sisters; John Gilbert Ortiz of CA., Tomasita Benavidez, Frank Ortiz, Reyes Ortiz, Lorraine Ortiz and companion Carlos Gallegos, Raymond Ortiz, Elizabeth Benavidez and husband Tim, Chris Ortiz and wife Nena, Sally Ortiz, Lucille Montoya, and his companion Clara Russel, Godchildren Deanza Martinez and Matthew Ortiz, all of Santa Fe, and numerous nephews/nieces. Recitation of the Rosary was held January 2, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Santa Fe, The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated January 3, 2012 also at church, with Fa. Nathan officiating. Interment was followed at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe. Pallbearers named are: John, Patrick, Gilbert, Natalie, Billy, Jojo and Matthew Ortiz, Tom Montoya and Tim Benavidez. Honorary pallbearers include: Dwayne Benavidez and Ursula Benavidez, Frankie, Felix, Denise, Ray, Jr., and Nick Ortiz, and Josh Montoya, and Deanza Martinez.
