Edna Della Brown, 80, of Los Alamos, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015.
She grew up in Greeley, Colorado and earned a Bachelors degree in Home Economics from Colorado State College of Education in Greeley.
After graduating, she worked as a secretary in the chemistry department at Caltech. She met her husband, Ronald Brown, at the campus Newman Center. She raised her children while living in Seattle, Minneapolis, and Los Alamos, where the family moved in 1977.
While living in Los Alamos she was a volunteer for many years at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Library and she also worked as the secretary for Self Help. One of her favorite activities was taking hikes with her weekly group where she met many of her lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ron Brown, her son Vincent Brown, her parents Procopio and Carolina Lucero, her brothers Albert and Gilbert Lucero, and her sister Betty Lohmeyer. She is survived by her children: Ken Brown of Texas and Cindy Brown of Los Alamos; Diana Anderson and husband Greg of Colorado; grandchildren: Brock and Shanlie Anderson of Colorado; and sister, Stella Aubry of California.
A rosary was recited on Sunday, May 31, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Mass of Christian burial was held at on Monday, June 1, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with a reception followed in the Parish Hall. The burial took at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos.
